Privacy Policy
This site runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. The only personal data we receive is what you type into the contact form and send us deliberately. The single cookie we ever set for a commercial purpose is the partner-referral cookie described in section 5 — an anonymous token, set only when you follow a creator’s referral link, and with your consent where the law asks for it.
1. Who we are
CTRL Colab LLC (“CTRL Colab”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We build custom software for operating businesses, and we publish our own desktop applications.

2. What we collect, and why
When you use a contact form. We collect your name, your email address, and your phone number and company if you provide them. The homepage form also asks which area you are interested in; the fit-call form at /betterway records that it came from that page and includes whatever you type in the message box describing the problem you want solved. We use all of it solely to reply to you and to prepare for that conversation. It reaches us as an email; there is no customer database behind this site.
If you tick the news opt-in box. We use your email address to send you occasional news about our software and new releases. This is optional, we only send it if you ticked the box, and you can unsubscribe at any time by replying or emailing hello@ctrlcolab.com.
When you visit. Our hosting provider keeps standard server request logs, which include IP addresses, for security and operational purposes. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything else.
When you email us. We keep the correspondence so we can reply and keep track of the conversation.
3. What we do not do
- No analytics, advertising pixels, or session recording.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The one first-party cookie we use — the partner-referral cookie in section 5 — holds an anonymous token that identifies the link you followed, not you.
- No selling, renting or trading personal data. Ever, to anyone.
- No profiling or automated decision-making.
4. Who else touches it
Only the providers needed to run the business, and only for that purpose:

5. Partner referral links
Some creators recommend our products through referral links on our own domain (/go/…), and earn a commission when their audience buys. Following one records the click — the country, a coarse browser class, and the referring site’s origin; your IP address is not stored — and sets one first-party cookie, ccp_atr, for up to 60 days. It holds an anonymous signed token that identifies the link you followed, so the creator is credited if you buy later. It contains nothing about you, is readable only by this site, and involves no advertising network.
In the EU, EEA and UK we ask before setting it. Declining takes you to the page all the same — the creator can still be credited within that visit, or by a discount code you enter yourself. If a purchase is credited to a creator, they see the product and the sale amount, never your name, email, or anything else about you. Our desktop applications contain no referral or affiliate tracking of any kind.
Creators in the program have an account with us; we keep their enrolment details, agreement acceptances, and commission records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
6. How long we keep it
Contact enquiries and the correspondence that follows: up to three years after the conversation ends, so we have context if you come back. Records relating to a paid engagement are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Ask us to delete something sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
7. Our software products
Our desktop applications are separate from this website and are covered by their own policies. Their one network call is licence activation and a roughly monthly licence check — no telemetry, no analytics, no content ever leaves your machine. Where a product publishes its own privacy document, it describes what that means in practice: OnDeck, FileRanger, OpenBar, SpaceCowboy and BigCap. The licence agreement covering each program is listed at our licence agreements page.
Purchases are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited as merchant of record. They collect the information needed to take payment and meet tax obligations, and act as an independent data controller for it. We never see or store card details.
8. Fonts and third-party content
This site’s typefaces are self-hosted — they are downloaded from our own domain, so viewing these pages sends no request to a font provider. Some of our product pages (for example under /ondeck) load fonts from Google directly; where a product publishes its own privacy document, that is noted there.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to a data-protection authority. This includes rights under the EU and UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act.
Email hello@ctrlcolab.com and we will action it. There is very little to retrieve, which is the point.
10. Children
This site and our products are intended for business use. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. A change here can never retroactively make the site collect something it did not — that would require a code change, and this page would change with it.
