Terms of Service
These terms cover this website, the downloads on it, and buying the app. What you may do with the software once installed is the End User License Agreement, which is the document that matters most.
1. Who we are
A Week From Wednesday is made and published by CTRL Colab LLC ("CTRL Colab", "we", "us"). Contact: hello@ctrlcolab.com.
By using this website or buying the software, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. What these terms cover
Four documents govern the relationship, each with its own job:
- These Terms of Service — the website, the downloads, and the purchase transaction.
- The End User License Agreement — what you may do with the installed software. This is the one that grants your license, and it includes the disclaimer that the app is not an accounting or tax product.
- The Privacy Policy — what data exists and where.
- The Refund Policy — how to get your money back.
Where these terms and the EULA both speak to the software itself, the EULA governs.
3. Using this website
The site is provided for information and to sell the software. You may read it, link to it, and quote reasonably from it with attribution. Please do not attempt to break it, scrape it at a volume that affects other people, or misrepresent it as your own.
We may change, move, or remove pages at any time. We try to keep documentation accurate, but a page may be out of date relative to the current release.
4. Downloads and software
Installers are served through the links on this site. Download only from those links: a copy from anywhere else may have been modified, and we cannot vouch for it.
The Windows installer and the macOS disk image publish a SHA-256 checksum with each release, so you can verify what you downloaded is what we built.
System requirements are Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), or macOS 11 or later on Apple silicon. We do not warrant that the software will run on any particular configuration — see §11 and the EULA.
5. Purchases, pricing, and taxes
A Week From Wednesday is a one-time purchase of $14.99 USD. It is not a subscription. There is no renewal, no recurring charge, and nothing to cancel.
Orders are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, which acts as our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle is the seller on your order: it runs the checkout, takes the payment, issues your receipt and tax invoice, and calculates and remits VAT, GST, or sales tax for your country. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Paddle's own terms and privacy policy. Your card details go to Paddle and never reach us.
Prices are in US dollars and shown exclusive of any tax Paddle adds at checkout for your location. We may change the price at any time; a change never affects a purchase already made.
Your purchase covers the 1.x version line and every release in it. A future major version is a separate product — see the EULA §4.
6. Delivery
The software is delivered as a download, and your serial number arrives by email at the same time. Delivery is immediate and automatic; if the email does not arrive, or a link does not work for you, email us and we will sort it out directly.
7. Refunds
Fourteen days, any reason, no justification required. The full terms are in the Refund Policy, which also covers duplicate charges and requests made after the window.
8. Support
Support is by email at hello@ctrlcolab.com, and the help guide covers the app end to end. We aim to reply within two business days. This is a small operation selling a $14.99 tool, so support is best-effort and there is no guaranteed response time or service level.
One limit worth stating plainly: we cannot recover your data. The app stores everything locally and we never receive a copy, so if your database is lost and you have no backup, there is nothing we can retrieve. Use Preferences ▸ Download database backup.
We also cannot advise you on tax rates, invoice content requirements, or what your jurisdiction expects of your records — see the EULA §9. Those are questions for a qualified accountant.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use the software or this site to break the law. In particular, do not use the app to produce invoices that are fraudulent, that misrepresent who is billing or what was supplied, or that are intended to deceive a customer, a lender, or a tax authority. The app will faithfully print whatever you type into it; that is not our endorsement of it.
10. Intellectual property and trademarks
The software, this website, and their contents are owned by CTRL Colab LLC and protected by copyright and other laws. "A Week From Wednesday", "CTRL Colab", and our logos are our trademarks; you may refer to them to identify the product, but not in a way suggesting we endorse you.
The software includes third-party open-source components, all under permissive licenses, listed with their full license texts in the EULA §8 and in the licenses folder alongside the installed app. Names of other companies and products mentioned in our documentation belong to their owners and are used descriptively only.
Your invoices are yours. We claim nothing in the documents you produce.
11. Third-party links and services
This site links to third parties — Paddle for checkout, GitHub for downloads — and our documentation may link elsewhere. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.
12. Disclaimers
THIS WEBSITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION ON IT IS COMPLETE OR CURRENT.
Warranties for the software itself are addressed in the EULA §10.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CTRL COLAB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS WEBSITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date and version above change when we do, and the current version always governs your use of the site. For a purchase, the terms in force when you bought apply to that purchase.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located there. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose consumer-protection laws grant you rights that cannot be waived by agreement, nothing in this section deprives you of those rights or of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
16. General
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business.
