Refund Policy

Effective August 19, 2026

Fourteen days, any reason, no justification needed. This page is the authoritative statement of how RepoBoss refunds work — including the one thing that is different here, because a RepoBoss purchase covers your collaborators as well as you.

What’s covered

Any RepoBoss purchase, within 14 days, for any reason.

You do not have to have found a bug. “It did not fit how we work”, “I could not get on with it”, “I changed my mind”, and “I bought it by accident” are all fine, and so is giving no reason at all. We will not ask you to justify the request.

The fourteen days run from the date of your purchase, which is the date on your receipt.

One thing that is not a refund question: RepoBoss is a one-time purchase — $25 for Indie, $50 for Studio — not a subscription. There is no renewal, no recurring charge, and nothing to cancel. If you ever see a second charge from us, it is a mistake; tell us and we will refund it, whenever it happens.

The part that is different: a refund covers your whole team

A refund revokes every serial from that purchase — the server licence and all of the client licences. If you have already given client serials to collaborators, their copies stop working too. Please tell them before you ask.

This follows from how RepoBoss is sold. One purchase mints one server serial and a number of client serials — three on Indie, ten on Studio — and they are one set, not separate products. Refunding the purchase returns the whole price, so it withdraws the whole set. There is no way to refund “your half” and leave your collaborators running.

None of that is a reason not to ask for a refund inside fourteen days if RepoBoss is not right for you. It is a reason to hand out client serials once you have decided to keep it, and a reason to give your collaborators a heads-up if you change your mind after you already have.

If the situation is more complicated than this page anticipates — you bought the wrong size, or you want to move from Indie to Studio, or one person needs to drop out — write to us. Those are ordinary things and we would rather sort them out than have you refund and re-buy.

How to request a refund

Email us, or reply to your receipt. Either works.

We aim to acknowledge refund requests within two business days. Once the refund is issued, Paddle returns the money by the same method you paid with. How long it takes to appear is up to your bank or card issuer, and is usually somewhere between a few days and a couple of weeks.

What happens to your licences

When a refund is issued, the licence granted by the End User License Agreement ends. Please uninstall RepoBoss. Your repositories are ordinary Git and are untouched — they remain on your disks and any Git tool can open them.

We will be straightforward about the mechanics, because pretending otherwise would be silly. When a refund is issued, every serial from that purchase is revoked on our side the same day and none of them can be activated again. The check that notices a revocation runs roughly monthly, and only when a machine is online, because RepoBoss fails open by design — software that can lock a paying customer out of their own source control over a network hiccup is worse than software that lets a refunded copy linger a few weeks. So a refunded copy stops at its next check-in rather than the instant the refund clears, and a machine that never goes online is on its honour. Nearly everyone does the right thing, which is why we can afford to run a policy this simple.

After 14 days

Ask anyway.

Requests outside the window are at our discretion, but “discretion” here does not mean “no”. If you bought it, got pulled onto something else, and only set it up three weeks later — write to us. If something is broken and we cannot fix it for you, write to us. At these prices the time we would spend arguing about a refund costs more than the refund does, and we know it.

What we cannot do is take back a purchase from a year ago because your team has stopped using it. There is a limit; it is just further out than the fourteen days.

Duplicate and accidental purchases

If you were charged twice for the same thing, or bought a second copy you did not mean to buy, tell us and we will refund it — the fourteen-day window does not apply. This holds no matter how long ago it happened. Nobody should be out of pocket for a double-click on a checkout page.

The same goes for buying the wrong edition. If you meant to buy Studio and bought Indie, or the reverse, write to us rather than refunding and starting again — we will put it right.

Your statutory rights

Nothing on this page reduces the rights you already have by law.

Depending on where you live, consumer legislation may give you a right of withdrawal, a right to a repair, replacement, or refund for goods that are not as described or not of satisfactory quality, or other protections. Those rights stand on their own. This policy is written to be more generous than the legal minimum, not to replace it, and where a mandatory local right gives you more than this page does, the local right applies.

Who you are buying from

CTRL Colab LLC makes RepoBoss. Paddle.com Market Limited sells it.

Paddle is our merchant of record. That means Paddle — not CTRL Colab — is the seller on your order. Paddle runs the checkout, takes the payment, issues your receipt and invoice, calculates and remits VAT and sales tax for your country, and processes the refund itself. Your card details go to Paddle and never reach us.

That is a billing arrangement, not a way of passing the buck. The terms on this page are ours, and we honour them directly. There is no app store in the middle deciding whether you qualify, and no third party who can overrule the answer. Whether you email us or reply to your Paddle receipt, the outcome is the same one described above.

Fair use of this policy

We may decline a request that is plainly made in bad faith — for example, repeatedly buying and refunding, or requesting a refund on a purchase whose client serials have been published or handed out well beyond the number bought, in breach of the EULA. This is a rare case and we would explain our reasoning rather than simply refusing.

If you are reading this paragraph and wondering whether your situation counts, it almost certainly does not — just ask for the refund.
